SCC 25: "Fingerprints Of God" Song & Story

I love so many of your songs, but this one really speaks to me (as does the story) because when I was 11 yrs old I developed an eating disorder that lasted 20 yrs. I recovered and stayed recovered for 7 yrs. Then chronic illnesses and many losses associated with them wound up leading me to relapse. I am now still struggling and about 1 1/2 yrs into the relapse.

While there were a lot of factors that led to the E.D. in the first place, and many things that helped me to recover, a huge part of my recovery was in learning more about how God sees me, and who I am as His child. Sadly, a big part of the reason I am struggling now is that things associated with the chronic illnesses have made it very difficult for me to worship and have also led to the loss of any Bible study group, and as a result, things between me and God are not going so great these days. I also have no idea anymore what His purpose for me is, though I do still believe that He has one. Without that relationship with Him and without that sense of who I am as His child, I am floundering, to say the least.

Anyway, listening to the song again reminds me that He does still have a reason for me to be here. And, it reminds me that His fingerprints are still all over my life even if I can't see them right now.

This song gives me so much hope, and strengthens my faith, that God is working on...shaping...continuing to love...and minister to my son, who is so spiritually lost, and in so much pain. SCC, thank you so much for all you do for US out here, your uplifting music, and your funny side, too. We love you!

Thanks so much for 25 years of continuous, amazing, spiritual, inspiration music and lyrics. I love this story and the song means so much more now. This song reached out to me in times when I couldn't face looking in the mirror. You truly show us the way by letting the Holy Spirit work in you, Steven. WE ARE TRULY ALL MASTERPIECES WITH THE FINGERPRINTS OF GOD ALL OVER US! WE ARE EACH AND EVERY ONE GOD'S BELOVED CHILDREN!

In this crazy world when we don't feel good enough, smart enough, successful enough,etc this song tells a completely new story! Thank You, your such an inspiration to families.

Aww. A sweet story. This was the first SCC song I heard. My sister played it on your Speechless cd. After this I was hooked. This was the first time I actually liked hearing a twelve string. I can't believe it sounded so nice. :)
